Bdale:
What is your RMA process or Paid Repair process?
The USB connector on my TeleBT popped off the PCB board when I plugged in
a cable the other day. I don't trust my soldering skills to reconnect
something this small. So I figure it's best to have you repair it vs. me
screwing it up and them coming back to have it repaired.
PS: Should I ship just the board/connector or do you want me to send you
back everything (Case, LiPo, etc)?
Thanks,
Alby

Altus Metrum announces TeleMega v5.0 and AltOS 1.9.8
Announcing TeleMega v5.0
We're pleased to announce the next version of our top of the line
flight computer, TeleMega. Version 5.0 is feature and performance
compatible with version 4.0, replacing the integrated 9-axis IMU with
the 6-axis gyro/accelerometer previously used by TeleMega v2.0 paired
with a new 3-axis magnetic sensor due to the global semiconductor
shortage.
TeleMega is an advanced flight computer with 9-axis IMU, 6 pyro
channels, uBlox Max 8Q GPS and 40mW telemetry system. We designed
TeleMega to be the ideal flight computer for sustainers and other
complex projects. Read more about TeleMega here:
http://altusmetrum.org/TeleMega
Announcing AltOS 1.9.8
Along with support for TeleMega v5.0, AltOS 1.9.8 includes a few
other minor changes.
Firmware Changes:
* Extend extra pyro channel times to support values > 327 seconds.
AltosUI Changes:
* Support ARM devices in Linux binary release
* Add support for TeleMega v5.0
AltosDroid Changes:
* Show tilt angle in pad and flight tabs
* Show altitude as well as height (useful for TeleGPS)
* Support devices without GPS receivers
MicroPeak GUI Changes:
* Show error dialog if device open fails

Any ballpark idea on when some more TeleMetrums will be available? My v1.2 has been getting a lot of use/abuse lately and it’s time to get a backup one.
I just learned that Tripoli has put up a page with links to all of the
videos from talks given at the first TRA Tech held during LDRS 39. I
gave one of the talks on "Building Better Electronics Bays".
If you're a Tripoli member, you can find the list of all the talks with
links to the videos at http://www.tripoli.org/TRATech2021 (you'll need
to log in with your member credentials). The other two talks I managed
to attend in person were outstanding and taught me new things .. I look
forward to watching the videos of some of the others when I have time,
and I hope TRA Tech continues to be part of the LDRS experience going
forward!
A direct link to the video of my talk hosted on YouTube is:

Enjoy!

Hi Bryan,
Personally I would just glue down the outer housing using something
like Loctite 401 CA glue. The only reason I am suggesting this is
because you sound like your flight will slam it a bit. If you were
doing regular flights, say around 15G I wouldn't bother. Just clean the
PCB around the block as best you can with something like metho, wait for
it to dry, then apply the CA and hold the housing in place till it
sets. Don't use excessive glue and glue up the internals of the
terminal blocks! 401 is great for sticking higher mass parts to PCBs and
I have been using it since the 1980's for such things.

The solder joints look good and the internal metal posts don’t move when I wiggle it. It looks like the only parts that move are the green case, the screws and the clamps. There is a space between the PCB and the bottom of the green case (maybe 0.75mm on one side). I’m hoping I can just put a dab of epoxy between the green case and the PCB to secure it.
