Greetings! I want to say thank you to Keith Packard and the Altus Metrum team. I had one of the LiPo batteries affected by the protection circuit board issue discovered back in April (www.gag.com/bdale/blog/posts/Batteries_and_Pyro_Circuits.html). I sent my battery to Keith and he removed the protection circuit board and returned the battery to me at no charge.
Yesterday I flew the TeleMetrum and modified battery in my PML Ultimate Endeavor on an L3200 and it worked perfectly! I made a flight video that includes a few AltOS UI screen shots and audio clips that showcase what the software and Telemetrum are capable of. This is truly a great product! www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lwaRacgrxM
Thanks again!

Hi,
I have trouble changing the callsign of the telemetrum to something with a
slash inside.
I can change it for the ground station but the telemetrum does not accept a
slash.
I would like to change my callsign to "HB/DO9THO" for example which is
necessary if you operate in a country which is not your home country.
Best
Thomas
Hey guys:
I am a relatively new customer. I purchased a Telemetrum kit about 9
months ago (through Apogee Components, if you're curious). I've flown it
now three times in a "level 1" class rocket to around 2000ft. It has
worked great so far.
There are a couple things that have come up that I would like to mention
as possible feature requests. I'm new to this list so apologies if these
items have been previously discussed. I read quite a few of the
archives, but pipermail doesn't really have a search feature.
First thing, I know that this "quirk" is mentioned in the manual. The
fact that, even though you configure the UI to use imperial units, you
still must enter your main deployment altitude in meters. I didn't catch
on to this quick enough and it got me on my first flight. The value I
entered, intending it to be in feet, was actually greater than the
apogee altitude. Kudos to you that the firmware is programmed to do main
deployment near apogee if apogee is less than the set value. But still
not what I had intended. I'm curious if there are technical or even
philosophical reasons it is this way, or if it is just something that
hasn't been a priority.
The second feature I would like to see, in the UI, is a configuration
setting to choose different formats for the display of the GPS
coordinate values. The degrees/minutes format is okay, but I have, for
an example, an iPhone app that I would like to use that only accepts
coordinates in degrees. I wrote a little perl script to convert them,
but it would just be nice to be able to select which format I want. Has
this ever been a consideration?
I am certainly not above attempting these changes myself. I just wanted
to see if these issues had already been discussed or are maybe even
already in the queue. Or, perhaps, there is something that I'm not aware of.
These minor things aside, I've had fun with the Telemetrum so far and
look forward to using it more.
Thanks!
Steve
